Looking after it
Dishwasher safe and microwave safe. Do not use them in an oven or under a broiler: the listing claims neither.
About this product
Six lightweight wheat straw plates in six colors that do not break when they hit the floor.
Wheat straw fiber with food-grade PP, microwave safe and dishwasher safe, 10 inches long.
A set of six deep plates made from natural wheat straw, starch and food-safe PP material, in green, yellow, pink, blue, gray and beige.
Each plate is 10 inches long and 1.2 inches high, and the listing gives an item weight of 136 g (0.3 lb).
They are microwave safe and dishwasher safe, and stack in a cabinet or a drawer.
Smooth round edges, BPA free and reusable.
Wheat straw dinnerware sits between ceramic and disposable plastic. It is light enough for a child or an older hand to carry a full plate, and the listing states a plate will not break if you fall on it by accident.
The material is wheat straw fiber bound with food-grade PP. The listing states it is 100% BPA free, non-toxic and reusable, and describes it as a replacement for disposable paper or plastic tableware rather than for good china.
They are microwave safe and dishwasher safe, which is the pair of properties that decides whether a plate set gets used. They also stack, so six of them take a fraction of the cabinet space of six ceramic plates.
The store suggests them for snacks, salads, porridge and pasta, for camping and travel, and as a gift for Christmas, birthdays, Thanksgiving and housewarmings.

Got questions?
Frequently Asked Questions
Which payment methods are accepted?
Credit and debit cards, processed securely by Stripe, and PayPal. Nothing else is taken at this checkout.
What currency are the prices displayed in?
Singapore dollars. Where a shipping charge applies, it is shown in the cart before you pay.
What are the shipping options and how long will it take?
Orders ship across Singapore and arrive in 5 to 7 days after a 24 to 48 hour handling time. Shipping is free on orders of $100 or more; below that it is a flat $25, shown in the cart before you pay.
Do I get a receipt for my order?
Yes. A receipt is emailed once payment is made, and a second email with a tracking number follows once the parcel has shipped.
How do I know if my order has been shipped?
You will get a confirmation email with a tracking number once the order is marked complete and the parcel has been collected. There is no tracking code before that, so there is nothing to send you sooner.
I haven't received my order yet. Is it lost?
Email theteam@kitchenwarehouse.asia with your order number and the team will look into it. Most emails are answered within one business day.
Do you have a store location?
No. We are an online supplier with no physical store or showroom, which is how the prices stay where they are.
Can I return an item?
Yes. You can return anything within 15 days of purchase for an exchange or a refund, including if you simply change your mind, as long as it comes back in its original packaging with proof of purchase. On a change-of-mind return you pay the return shipping and the original shipping charge is not refunded. If the item is faulty, damaged or not as described, we cover the return shipping.
Is this dishwasher safe?
Most kitchenware lines here are listed as dishwasher safe. The ceramic cookware set's listing does not say so, and where a listing adds a hand-wash note, the product page says that instead.
Is it BPA free?
The listings for the silicone utensils, the wheat straw plates, the melamine dinnerware and the pasta strainer all state BPA free. Where a listing does not state it, the product page does not claim it.
How long does shipping take?
5 to 7 days after a 24 to 48 hour handling time, anywhere in Singapore. Free on orders of $100 or more.
Is there a warranty?
If an item arrives faulty, damaged or not as described, we replace or refund it and cover the return shipping. Where a manufacturer offers a warranty of its own, the product page says so. Nothing in our policies limits the rights you have under the consumer protection law of your province.
Can I order a replacement part or a single piece from a set?
No. The sets are sold complete as listed, and individual pieces are not stocked separately.
Where are orders shipped to?
Addresses in Singapore, arriving in 5 to 7 days after handling. There is no showroom and no in-store pickup.
Do the colors match the photographs?
The photographs are the supplier's own. Screens differ, so treat color as a close guide rather than an exact match.
Are the measurements exact?
The store's own note is that measurements quoted on the website are subject to slight variance, so measure your own space before ordering if a few millimetres matter. Where a listing gives metric and imperial, both are quoted as published.
Can I buy this as a gift and have it sent to someone else?
Yes. Enter the shipping address you want at checkout. There is no gift wrapping service, and the receipt is emailed to the buyer rather than packed in the parcel.
What if it arrives damaged?
Email us with your order number and a photograph of how it arrived. Damaged, incomplete or incorrect items are put right by the support team and the return shipping is on us.
How many plates are in the set?
Six, one each in green, yellow, pink, blue, gray and beige.
What are they made of?
Wheat straw fiber, starch and food-grade PP material. The listing states 100% BPA free and non-toxic.
Can they go in the microwave?
Yes. The listing states microwave safe and dishwasher safe.
Can they go in the oven?
The listing does not say they can, so do not put them in an oven or under a broiler.
How big are the plates?
The listing gives 10 inches in length and 1.2 inches high.
How heavy is one plate?
The listing gives an item weight of 136 g (0.3 lb). It also quotes a 5 pound weight without saying what that refers to, so we quote both rather than choose.
Will they break if dropped?
The listing describes them as sturdy and unbreakable in ordinary use and says one will not break if you fall on it by accident.
Are they good for children and older people?
The listing describes them as ideal for the elderly and children, and for people with disabilities, because they are thick but light.
Are they suitable for camping?
Yes. The listing calls them easy to carry for camping and traveling.
Do they stack?
Yes. They are designed to stack and save space in drawers or cabinets.
Are they recyclable?
The listing states they are recyclable. Check what your local recycling program accepts.
Are bowls or cups included?
No. The set is six plates.
